Abiding in the Word, Not the World

Something struck me recently. In John 8 Jesus talks about true disciples abiding in His Word and therefore will be free. I see many professing Christians abiding in many things OTHER than the Word. They clearly aren't free, but entangled in their flesh. Seeing "truth in everything" their minds continue to be warped by the world's wisdom (psychology, philosophy (Neo-Platonic, gnosticism, logic), speculations) instead of being renewed by Scripture. Their divided loyalty between man and God becomes clear, and most often their loyalty to God loses.

1Co 1:21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe.

Col 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

Eph 4:17 Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. 18 They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.

While on this topic, I'd like to mention again what John MacArthur has noted:

Quote:

The historian Schlatter says, "Everything that had to do with theories about God and the world and the meaning of human life was called `philosophy' at that time, not only in the pagan schools but also in the Jewish schools of the Greek cities." He is saying that the term philosophy was used of every single theory about God and the world in that era. It was the common term. So, anyone who had any new theory about God, or any new theory about the world--its origins, its meaning, and its destiny--was considered a philosopher with a philosophy. Josephus, the historian of that day, has shown that any elaborate system of thought and moral discipline was called a philosophy.

You don't need to be captured by philosophy--you can be complete in Christ. You can throw away human philosophy, all the traditional religions of the world, and all the man-made forms and theories. "For in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and ye are complete in Him..." (Col. 2:9-10a).

At the Fall of man, we fell into a sad state of incompleteness. An unsaved man is spiritually incomplete because he is totally out of fellowship. He is morally incomplete because he has no standard of conduct. Even if he did, he couldn't live up to it. And he is mentally incomplete because he is incapable of knowing the truth. So man is spiritually, morally, and mentally incomplete.

End quote.

Recently I mentioned how someone holding to these doctrines isn't saved.:

The canon of Scripture includes the Septuagint OT canon (deuterocanonicals, Apocrypha)
Authoritative Tradition
Baptismal regeneration and grace
Necessity of baptism for salvation
Real presence of Christ in the Eucharist (Lord's Supper)
The Mass is a sacrifice
Necessity of the Lord's Supper for salvation
Purgatory and praying for the departed
The communion of saints and saintly intercession
Authority of the Catholic Church
Apostolic Succession
Possibility of falling from grace
The sacrament of penance
Mary was ever virgin

The person I was speaking with agreed and rightly noted that these are Roman Catholic doctrines. But the disagreement suddenly disappeared when a famous name was attached to these doctrines. "Truth in everything". People might throw out damnable doctrine, but not when it comes by way of a famous man. Suddenly its just something that is ignored.

Now THAT is treason toward God.

Gal 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.
Gal 1:9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.
Gal 1:10 For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Where is your loyaly and is it divided? Are you willing to give up your favorite "church father" or theologian, professor, conference speaker, pastor, teacher, singer, for the purity of doctrine and sole loyalty to Christ alone?

The person who held to those doctrines above...a person touted by man as a "Church Father" (thus begging the question, what church?): Augustine, the Roman Catholic Bishop of Hippo.

Many Christs

I recently came across this observation which is accurate:

"Jesus warned about false Christs, and the world abounds with them today. The Christ of the Roman Catholic Church is a consecrated wafer and a weak man in strong Mary’s arms. The Christ of Jehovah’s Witnesses and Unitarians is not God. The Christ of the Mormons is a brother to Satan. The Christ of the New Age gained mystical wisdom in India. The Christ of the Da Vinci Code is a married man. The Christ of Liberation Theology is a freedom fighter. The Christ of the Jesus Seminar brand is a confused man that didn’t know what he was doing. The Christ of Christian rockers is a party dude. The Christ of the emerging church is an environmentalist. The Christ of Islam didn’t die on the cross. " ~Source

Who you say that Jesus is, who you place your trust in for eternal life, indeed has eternal consequences. Any other Jesus Christ other than the one of Scripture, Who is the Son of God and God the Son, the second Person in the Trinity, the Risen Lord, cannot save and automatically means you have a false gospel that can't save either.

Mat 24:23 "Then if anyone says to you, 'Behold, here is the Christ,' or 'There He is,' do not believe him.
Mat 24:24 "For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.
Mat 24:25 "Behold, I have told you in advance.
Mat 24:26 "So if they say to you, 'Behold, He is in the wilderness,' do not go out, or, 'Behold, He is in the inner rooms,' do not believe them.
Mat 24:27 "For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.

What Islam's Sharia Law States

In "Shariah For Dummies" Nonie Darwish shows just how incapatable Sharia law of Islam is with the US Constitution. Its just a list, but it packs a wallop because it shows just how horrific TRUE Islam is.

Don't be fooled folks. Islam is not peaceful. Its own quran, hadiths, and history, as well as its current state demonstrated this very clearly. What Rick Warren, the IntersectionsInternational, CAIR, George Bush, Condalezza Rice, the Liberals, Obama, or Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf who is heading up the Ground-Zero-In-Your-Face Mosque, ISN'T being truthful nor accurate about what Islam teaches. Their banking you being ignorant and not caring.

How else will they sneak in and use our laws to their advantage against us? Look at Dearborn Michigan.

Merging Charismaticism With Doctrines of Grace

Jeffrey T. Riddle at Reformed Baptist Fellowship wrote an article called "Five Concerns about the Merging of Charismatic and Calvinistic Doctrine"

I’ve listed his five point, but go to the article for his reasons:

1. One cannot hold to the validity of charismatic “sign-gifts” in the church today and be consistently Biblical and reformed in his theological outlook.

2. The emphasis on modern day occurrences of the extraordinary and the miraculous undermines the Biblical emphasis on the “ordinary means” of grace.

3. Those who deny the cessation of extra-ordinary charismatic gifts and experiences in the church today ignore the Biblical parallel to the cessation of some Biblical offices.

4. The promotion of non-cessationist doctrine fuels an overriding desire for extraordinary spiritual experiences that can lead to confusing theological beliefs and practices.

5. The emphasis on extraordinary experience undermines the sufficiency and authority of Scripture.

End quote.

The Doctrines of Grace (which, by the way are not only biblical, but what historic Baptists have held to for centuries), are diametrically opposed to the Charismatic doctrines. At the heart Charismaticism denies the sufficiency of Scripture and therefore has a low view of it, as well as a low view of God and a very high view of Man. The Docs of Grace have a HIGH view of Scripture and God, and therefore a LOW view of Man. Charismaticism is extraordinarily man-centered and the Docs of Grace are totally Christ-centered. As you can see from the foundation, the two are INCOMPATABLE and therefore one is to be rejected, not accepted.

When a person has a low view of Scripture, which many Reformers today have, then they are willing to accept anything. Their motto (sometimes actually spoken, sometimes not) is: truth in everything. While that sounds quite tolerant and open-minded, it actually is rebellion against the Truth. God is the God of truth, not truth AND error. All it takes is one lie to turn truth into a lie, just as one work makes grace cease to be grace, or one false prophecy to make a false prophet.

Isa 45:19 …I the LORD speak the truth; I declare what is right.

Joh 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

1Jo 2:21 I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because NO LIE IS OF THE TRUTH.

John 17: 17SANCTIFY THEM IN THE TRUTH; Your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.

2Co 13:8 For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth.

When God has given His means to live in His ways, and the world is diametrically oppsed to Him in all things, why would a Christian seek after the world’s ways thinking they honor Christ? That is preciscely why Scripture prohibits us from going to philosophy to find truth. Jesus IS Truth. His Word IS Truth. If that’s not enough, then you need to examine yourself to see if you are in the faith.

Its seems as if many of the Reformers today are not content with Scripture alone for truth in dealing with life and godliness. I think they have fallen into Post-modern thinking that truth isn’t that knowable, therefore we can’t REALLY know truth in Scripture (“who has perfect doctrine” silly response), and “all truth is God’s truth” aka “truth in everything”. It leads to bad doctrine and produces bad fruit.

Psa 1:1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2 but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.

Col 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

1Co 1:21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe.

Pro 15:33 The fear of the LORD is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor.

1Co 1:20 Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

Ecc 10:1 Dead flies make the perfumer's ointment give off a stench; so a little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.

Luk 8:15 As for that in the good soil, they are those who, hearing the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patience.

1Pe 2:2 Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation--

Eph 5:17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

2Co 10:5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,

1Co 5:6 Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? 7 Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.

Gal 5:7 You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth? 8 This persuasion is not from him who calls you. 9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump.

Its not like we don't have the Bible to know what truth is. We do. The issue is, are you going to obey God's Word or live as a rebel and merely slap the name of Christ onto it? Are you going to commit treason against the Lord of lords and King of kings?

Where is your loyalty?

The Atonement Piper, MacArthur, Scripture

John Piper's view of the atonement is not biblical and shows he's not holding to the doctrines of Grace as he claims. The term is Amyraldianism, aka Hypothetical Universalism.

John Piper's view rings similar to Amyraldianism--he says Jesus did in fact die for all in some way, just not in the "same way" as for the elect. He is not very clear nor does he correctly exegete the passages to make his point (as you will see in several articles I've quoted and linked to). In fact he sounds quite Post-Modern to me . Here are examples:

If you say that he died for every human being in the same way

For if Christ died for all men in the same way

In other words if you believe that Christ died for all men in the same way

In order to say that Christ died for all men in the same way

"We do not deny that all men are the intended beneficiaries of the cross in some sense. 1 Timothy 4:10 says that Christ is "the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe." What we deny is that all men are intended as the beneficiaries of the death of Christ in the same way. All of God's mercy toward unbelievers -- from the rising sun (Matthew 5:45) to the worldwide preaching of the gospel (John 3:16) -- is made possible because of the cross."

"Whence does this mercy flow to sinners? How is God just to withhold judgment from sinners who deserve to be immediately cast into hell? The answer is that Christ's death so clearly demonstrates God's just abhorrence of sin that he is free to treat the world with mercy without compromising his righteousness. In this sense Christ is the savior of all men."

"But he is especially the Savior of those who believe. He did not die for all men in the same sense. The intention of the death of Christ for the children of God was that it purchase far more than the rising sun and the opportunity to be saved. The death of Christ actually saves from ALL evil those for whom Christ died "especially.""

"Therefore if Christ is the propitiation for all the sins of every individual in the world, they cannot be punished, and must be saved. But John does not believe in such universalism (John 5:29). Therefore it is very unlikely that 1 John 2:2 teaches that Jesus is the propitiation of every person in the world."

More of the "Jesus died for everyone but not in the same way" argumentation:

There are lots of reasons why this answer (that Jesus tasted death for everyone) is a sign of spiritual health. One of the most obvious reasons is right here in our text, Hebrews 2:9:

But we do see Him who has been made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.

The answer that 95% of evangelicals would give is a healthy sign of desire to say what the Bible says.

But to say what the Bible says and to mean what the Bible means are not necessarily the same thing. Which is why I said that there is something unhealthy about answering the question "For whom did Jesus taste death?" by simply saying "everybody." What's unhealthy about it is not, first, that it's wrong. It might not be wrong. It depends on what you mean by saying that. What's unhealthy is that it stops short of asking what Jesus really accomplished when he died. It assumes that we all know what he accomplished and that this he accomplished for everybody in the same way. That is not healthy, because it is not true. My guess is that most of those 95% who say Jesus died for everybody would have a hard time explaining just what it is that the death of Jesus really, actually accomplished for everybody—especially what it accomplished for those who refuse to believe and go to hell.

The death of Jesus is for the bride of Christ in a different way than it is for those who perish. Here's the problem with saying Christ died for all the same way he died for his bride...

So, we go back to the problem: in what sense did Christ taste death for their sins? If they are still guilty for their sins and still suffer punishment for their sins, what happened on the cross for their sins? Perhaps someone would use an analogy. You might say, Christ purchased their ticket to heaven, and offered it to them freely, but they refused to take it, and that is why they went to hell. And you would be partly right: Christ does offer his forgiveness freely to all, and any who receives it as the treasure it is will be saved by the death of Jesus.
I don't think that the Bible commands us or, in fact, lets us say that Christ died for everybody in the same way. And the context of Hebrews 2:9 is a good place to show that the death of Christ had a special design or aim for God's chosen people that it did not have for others.

End quote.

In contrast see MacArthur on Heb. 2:9 here.

And more of the same thinking here:

"My aim here is to show from Scripture that the simultaneous existence of God's will for "all persons to be saved" (1 Tim. 2:4) and his will to elect unconditionally those who will actually be saved is not a sign of divine schizophrenia or exegetical confusion. A corresponding aim is to show that unconditional election therefore does not contradict biblical expressions of God's compassion for all people, and does not nullify sincere offers of salvation to everyone who is lost among all the peoples of the world.

To avoid all misconceptions it should be made clear at the outset that the fact that God wishes or wills that all people should be saved does not necessarily imply that all will respond to the gospel and be saved. We must certainly distinguish between what God would like to see happen and what he actually does will to happen, and both of these things can be spoken of as God's will."

However clearly Scripture says Jesus died for ONLY the elect, therefore His atonement is totally efficacious and is not wasted in any way, because He accomplished all that the Father had intended (John 4:34; 5:36;John 17:4; Luke 18:31). John 17 stands out as a glaring example that Jesus came for a particular people, the elect. Other examples:

Eph 1:11 In Him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,

Eph 1:4 even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love 5 He predestined us for adoption through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will,

Joh 10:11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd LAYS DOWN HIS LIFE FOR THE SHEEP.

Joh 10:14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR THE SHEEP. 16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be ONE FLOCK, one shepherd.

Heb 13:20 Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of THE SHEEP, by the THE BLOOD OF THE ETERNAL COVENANT,

Act 20:28 Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for THE CHURCH OF GOD, WHICH HE OBTAINED WITH HIS OWN BLOOD.

Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, as CHRIST LOVED THE CHURCH and GAVE HIMSELF UP FOR HER,

Open Theist Heretic Clark Pinnock Dies at 73

Heretic Clark Pinnock, apologist for the heretical Open Theism teaching, where he claims the future is open and therefore God is learning as He goes, died yesterday at age 73.

The "Christian"Post reports:

As a teacher at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary back in the 1960s, Pinnock had directly influenced a number of notable Southern Baptist leaders including Paige Patterson, Jerry Vines, Adrian Rogers.

And many of those leaders, in turn, influenced others.

“[T]he gospel I believed came through preachers who were trained by Clark Pinnock,” recalled Dr. Russell D. Moore, dean of the School of Theology and senior vice-president for Academic Administration at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. “More than that, the nation’s largest evangelical denomination would never have turned back to biblical inerrancy had it not been for a man who would later reject the concept.”

...Back in the 1960s, Pinnock presented a strong case to his students for the complete truthfulness of the Scriptures, concerned that Southern Baptists were sliding into theological liberalism like other Baptists before them. He also presented an overall narrative of God’s work in Christ Jesus that many students reportedly found compelling.
In the 1970s, however, Pinnock began to question his previous understanding of biblical inspiration. Among the beliefs he came to hold was that evangelicals should unite around our common commitment to forgiveness through the “shed blood of Jesus Christ” rather than around a common understanding of Holy Scripture.
Over time, the Canadian theologian moved from doubting the verbal inspiration of Scripture to questioning the long-standing traditions of Christian orthodoxy from almost every vantage point.
“He led the short-lived movement toward ‘open theism,’ questioning the historic church’s belief that God knows everything, including the future free decisions of his creatures,” recalled Moore.

End quote.

Pinnock denies the penal substituion of Christ Jesus on the Cross.

The Master's Seminary's President and Professor of Pastoral MinistriesJohn MacArthur in his paper "OPEN THEISM’S ATTACK ON THE ATONEMENT" states

"Open theism arose in evangelicalism over a decade ago when evangelicals posited a God to whom one can easily relate and who is manageable in place of a God who punishes sinners for their sin. This they did by proposing a model of Christ’s atonement that was not substitutionary. To do so they adopted the model of the 16th-century Socinian heresy, which taught that God could forgive without the payment of a ransom."

In the footnotes of the papter, he states:

Open theist David Basinger suggests that the believer’s own free-will choice— rather than Christ’satonement— is what “ bridges” the “initial separation . . . between God and humans” (Clark Pinnock, et al., The Openness of God [Downers Gro ve, Ill.: InterVarsity, 19 94] 173-75).

In his article “From Augustine to Arminius: A Pilgrimage in Theology,” Clark Pinnock recounted his own retreat from the penal substitution view via a route that took him from Anselm to Grotius to Barth (Pinnock, ed. The Grace of God, the Will of Ma n: A Ca se for Arminian ism [Grand Rapids: Zondervan,1990]).

End quote.

Sadly, as with most professing Christians, Moore can't reject a heretic and thinks there's good in everything including a heretic:

"Still, Moore expressed gratitude “for the good things God did through him” and encouraged his fellow believers to do the same."

Scripture is clear that we are to reject the MAN who is a heretic. Such a man is twisted and perverts the Truth. Such a man is NOT saved, instead preaching a false god that can't save. God did NOT use this man for the preaching of the Gospel or the Christ of that Gospel. God condemned the man himself.

Is. 8 20 To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn.

2Jo 1:9 Everyone who goes on ahead and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. Whoever abides in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, 11 for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works.

Mat 7:15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Mat 7:17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit.

2Jo 1:7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist. 8 Watch yourselves, so that you may not lose what we have worked for, but may win a full reward.

Instead of the heinous view of Open Theism and its attack on the Atonement, I suggest reading about it in Scripture (Is. 53, the Gospels, Hebrews), then also read MacArthur's excellent sermon, The Atonement: Real or Potential?

This also has ramifications for John Piper's erroneous views about the Atonement. More on that later.

What Makes You A Christian? Because You Say You Are?

How often I've talked about this very thing....

Joseph Farah says it well:

It's true that much of the church is lacking the moral discernment it should receive from the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. Much of the church is as blind to right and wrong as the world is. That's alarming. But Jesus did warn us:

In Matthew 7:20-24, He says: "Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
"Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
"And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
"Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them …"

Those should be alarming verses for all professing Christians. But I don't think many American evangelicals give them much consideration.

In other words, it's not enough to call yourself a Christian. It's not enough to go to church on Sunday. It's not enough to say some magic words. You've got to be sincere in your repentance and be obedient to His will.

I don't get my notion of what being a Christian is or how to be one from other Christians. I get it from the Bible.

And understand what I am saying here: I do not suggest it is wrong for Christians to associate with homosexuals, as some have charged. In fact, if we love them – or, as Ann Coulter suggests, "like" them – we should engage them. We should bring them the truth. We should share the good news of the Gospel. And that, however uncomfortable it is, means confronting them with their sin – just as we would any other sinner.

I believe that's what Jesus meant when He told us to love our enemies. The ultimate demonstration of love for a Christian should be to evangelize the lost.

Obama Is No "Devout Christian"

**Update at the bottom of this article.**

Apparently some "evangelical Christians" (Franklin Graham, to be precise) think that Obama is a Christian. His recent endorsement of building a mosque two blocks from Ground Zero on Sept. 11, when Islam declared war on us, has rightly enraged many Americans. Here are a few quotes (in italics) from a story that Obama's administration is putting out there now.

"Now it's obvious that the president has renounced the prophet Mohammed, and he has renounced Islam, and he has accepted Jesus Christ. That's what he says he has done. I cannot say that he hasn't. So I just have to believe that the president is what he has said," Graham continued, adding that "the Islamic world sees the president as one of theirs."

Has he really? He doesn't go to church. He didn't go on Christmas or Easter. He doesn't talk about the Bible or Jesus Christ. Yet he DOES go to mosques on the first dayof Ramadan. He does talk about his "Muslim faith", he endorses terrorists and gives them money, he said America is a Muslim nation. His first interview as president was with a Muslim tv station. He has constantly referred to Islam and its quran and prayers as "beautiful". No such thing with biblical Christianity. And by the way, the Muslim world denounces Christians and the Infidel Westerners, so if Obama was a "Christian" they would no more own him as "one of theirs" as they would own the Roman Catholics as their own. In addition I'll add here that Muslims are allowed to lie. Its called "al-takeyya". So they can lie about anything if its for the good of Islam. And why not? Their god Allah, is "the greatest of deceivers" according to their own quran. So its children will also follow in like manner.

"The president himself has written that his father, Barack Obama Sr., was already a confirmed atheist by the time he was born. His father divorced his mother when Obama was 2 years old, and he had little contact with his father during his childhood."

And what I keep hearing is that his mother was the affirmed atheist. If his father had such little contact with him then why did he write a whole book about a father he barely knew and his dreams? Why was it that he was in Indonesia in a Muslim school (which he happily recounts in the same book)? Interestingly, both parents deplored Christianity.

"He communicates with his religious adviser every single day," Burton said. "There's a group of pastors that he takes counsel from on a regular basis. His faith is very important to him, but it's not something that's a topic of conversation every single day. Burton said the president has talked "extensively" about his faith in the past and "you can bet he'll talk about his faith again." But "making sure Americans know what a devout Christian he is" is not the president's top priority. "

As for being a "devout Christian", how can anyone make such a ridiculous statement? A CHRISTIAN is a member of a local church (as we see repeatedly throughout the NT starting in Acts all the way to Revelation). Not Obama. A CHRISTIAN loves Christ and proclaims Him as Savior and resurrected Lord--the only way, truth, and life. Not Obama. A CHRISTIAN will not give any tolerance or applause nor embrace any part of false religions like Islam. Not Obama. So what does Burton mean, exactly, when he labels his boss as "devout Christian? Not according to Scripture, and not according to Obama's own words and actions.

So let's take a look at all the king's spiritual men:

Jim Wallis, who is anything BUT a Christian. He heads up Sojourners (a liberal organization funded by liberal and DNC supporter George Soros).

As Apprising Ministries reports, Wallis practices pagan Contemplative Spirituality. He wants civility (read: tolerance) toward those who have "hijacked Christianity".

Apprising Ministries also shows that Wallis endorses liberal theologian Harvey Cox's book.

Jeremiah Wright was also one of Obama's religious advisers as his pastor of twenty years. Wright is not a Christian either. He is into politics and racism. Wright has a false gospel that can't save and is full of anger, bitterness and hate.

Who else are Obama's religious advisors that he "meets with every single day"?

Besides Reform Rabbi David Saperstein as well as Cardinal Theodore McCarrick:

Daniel Burke, Religion News Service tells us:

Joshua DuBois

Before stepping into politics, DuBois, 27, was a pastor at small Pentecostal church in Massachusetts, and his approach to the president bears traces of his former calling. DuBois sends daily devotionals to Obama's Blackberry -- often a Bible verse or an excerpt from the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer, or a snippet from the works of theologians Richard and Reinhold Niebuhr, particular favorites of the president.

Denis McDonough

Traveling by the president's side on overseas missions, the 40-year-old Minnesotan is a crucial player in Obama's quest to engage Muslims, find common cause with the Vatican, and restore the country's moral authority.

Rashad Hussain, a 31-year-old White House lawyer

Hussain briefed Obama before his first interview as president -- with Al Arabiya, a television station based in the United Arab Emirates. He has also contributed to Obama's two major speeches to Muslims -- in Ankara, Turkey and Cairo -- offering insights about the history of Islam in America and suggesting suitable verses from the Quran. In naming Hussain as his envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Obama noted that the young Muslim is a hafiz (someone who has memorized the Quran).

"Her legal and political acumen helped Rogers guide the council's 25 members, who run the theological gamut from Baptist to Hindu, to reach a consensus on more than 60 recommendations for revamping the White House faith-based office, which were presented on Tuesday (March 9)."

Joel Hunter and Sharon Watkins

When Obama wants to pray privately, he has repeatedly called Joel Hunter, a Florida megachurch pastor, and the Rev. Sharon Watkins, president and general minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Politically, Hunter, a registered Republican, and Watkins, who heads a liberal-leaning denomination, may not always agree, but, like Obama, both are committed to transcending traditional barriers.

Lt. Carey Cash - rotation at Camp David

"The pastor who's preached to Obama most often since he became president is a 6-foot-4-inch Southern Baptist Navy chaplain whose great uncle was country music legend Johnny Cash.

Before his stint at Camp David, Cash, 39, was an All-American football player for the Citadel, and a chaplain for the Marine's 1st Battalion in 2003 in the Iraq war, during which he baptized 59 soldiers, including one in Saddam Hussein's former presidential palace in Baghdad. The Memphis native was raised in a deeply religious household -- his mother is a Christian author -- and has harsh words for Muslims, writing in his 2004 book that Islam "from its very birth has used the edge of the sword as the means to convert or conquer those with different religious convictions."

End quote. For the full article go here.

And let's not forget the infamous Rick Warren who prayed to other gods at Obama's inauguration.

"Devout Christian"? Hardly.

***UPDATE***

Author Chuck Morse also has noted some of the same issues as I have. In WND's report he makes some observations:

Quote:

"It's hard to reasonably explain Obama's cold relationship with Israel, his inaction in the face of Iran obtaining a nuclear bomb, his giving a green light to the building of a mosque near where Islamic fundamentalists hijacked passenger planes on September 11, 2001, and made them into missiles to destroy the World Trade Center in Manhattan," says Morse.

One possible explanation, says Morse, is the Islamic principle of Taqiyya – or the sanctioning of hiding one's Muslim faith.

..."Obama is the Christian son of a Kenyan Muslim father and a Kansas mother," writes Hillel Italie. "Born in Hawaii, he lived from ages 6 to 10 in predominantly Muslim Indonesia with his mother and Indonesian stepfather. His full name, Barack Hussein Obama, sounds Muslim to many."

The name "Hussein" doesn't just sound Muslim, says Morse. It is "reserved exclusively for Muslims." In addition, Islamic law upholds that children born to a Muslim father are automatically Muslim, says Morse. The president's stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, was Muslim. Obama's school records indicate that in Indonesia he enrolled as a Muslim in Catholic and Muslim schools, and in his autobiography, he acknowledged studying the Quran in Indonesia.

Morse also refuses to overlook recent insights, noting:

Israel Today quoting Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Ghefit stating on Nile TV that "the American president told me in confidence that he is a Muslim;"

Obama claiming Islam played a significant role in American history and culture;

Obama crediting Islam with key contributions to the Europe's Renaissance and Enlightenment.
As word of the poll's results blazed out across online news sites, White House spokesman Bill Burton chastened Americans for "not reading a lot of news about what religion the president is."

Morse notes that Obama confessed to converting to Christianity around the dawn of his political involvement, "under the tutelage of the racist anti-American and anti-Semitic pastor Jeremiah Wright," he said.

But leaving Islam, Morse says, is fraught with complications and deadly consequences.

"By converting out of Islam, Obama either became an apostate, a murtadd, in Arabic, or he began engaging in an Islamic-sanctioned deception and thus remained Muslim," says Morse. "If Obama truly left Islam, and actively embraced Christianity, he could be subject to severe penalties under Islamic law including the death sentence. Islamic Shariah law calls for the execution of any Muslim who becomes a murtadd."

End quote.

He's exactly right.

Great quote from Rush Limbaugh: "So nothing is "obvious" about Obama's Christianity, Mr. Burton, and the telltale sign is that you even have to say it. "

"Conservatives" Leaders Are Embracing Homosexuality

Today's "Conservatives":

Rush Limbaugh pays $1 million to Elton John to sing at his fourth wedding.

Ann Coulter is speaking at an event that is hosted by GOPROUD, a homosexual "conservative" group. She went bullistic on Farah for Worldnetdaily's dropping her from their upcoming "Taking America Back National Conference". She throws ad homs and personally attacks him, which tells me someone that angry is very defensive.

I noticed Coulter going down this road a few years ago, making some statement about how the GOP is big enough to include homosexuals.

Homosexuality, besides being unbiblical, is against good morals. This is why its shunned by true conservatives. Its not personal, its principles. I'll just be honest. Homosexuality is a sin.

I left the GOP a few years ago because it has gotten quite liberal while I'm going in the opposite direction. Its becoming so that there's little difference between the two parties anymore, either morally or fiscally. I know. I live in California. Enough said, eh? =/

Then there's Glen Beck who also thinks that while America is going down the tubes, homosexuality isn't a threat. Say what?

I'm fearful that Glen Beck is also head the same direction as Coulter, because he made it very clear that dealing with immorality like homosexuality isn't "what he does" yet he says American is going down in flames. Well, one need merely to look at Romans 1 in Scripture to see this happening, and homosexuality IS an enemy on a multitude of levels---whether morally, financially (big socialist programs), or shutting down the rights of those who oppose them (the intolerance of the tolerant left). So we'll see which way Beck will end up. Time will tell. It already has with Ann Coulter, sadly.

In dealing with Beck in a different article, WND quotes Joseph Farah, editor and founder, "When conservative leaders like Beck shrug off the ramifications of same-sex "marriage," they unwittingly reject traditional marriage's biblical ordination and its history as the bedrock protector of women, children and a free, self-governing society, said Farah."

The article goes on to note the hypocrisy of Beck who's trying to show the infiltration of Marxism in our country.

Quote:

Kupelian outlines the unforeseen and far-reaching consequences of legalizing safe-sex marriage, including:

*schools required to teach that homosexuality is normal and acceptable;
*the criminalization of traditional Judeo-Christian beliefs regarding homosexuality as pastors and rabbis fear preaching their faith's core moral values;
*the inevitable legalization of polygamy and other new and bizarre forms of "marriage"

...After all, from the Marxist perspective, if you're serious about transforming America – from a land of limited government and individual liberty rooted in a transcendent, faith-based moral code to a population of compliant, needy people dependent on a god-like government – you simply must separate the population from Judeo-Christian values and morality."

"Glenn," he adds, directly addressing the popular Fox host, "the three founders you picture daily on your Fox TV show under the heading Faith. Hope. Charity – namely Sam Adams, George Washington and Ben Franklin – would have been horrified, appalled and aghast at the mere thought of men marrying men and women marrying women."

End quote.

Dave Kupelian and Joseph Farah are right. These "conservatives" are playing right into the hands of the Left.

Now we can't forget Dick Cheney's endorsement of same-sex "marriage"; the timing shows it was likely due to his daughter deciding to become a lesbian.

Then there's Cindy McCain and her daughter (Meghan, who works holds a little elephant figurine....how quaint) who support same-sex marriage--by posing for a print ad for "NOH8".

As well as Laura Bush. She thinks same-sex "marriage" should be legal, and abortion should remain legal.

Conservative? How, exactly?

Christian? Not at all.

Joseph Farah also writes on this issue of how "Conservatives" are actually liberal, and how disheartening it is to be in the minority of those who know that homosexuality, for instance, is a sin and should be shunned. (Note: I can't endorse all of the WND site b/c I do have some doctrinal problems with some of the contributors, so always read with caution).

Rick Warren Continues To Dig His Hole Deeper

Apprising Ministries has an update on Tricky Warren's latest Tweeting, trying to defend his pathetically immature and fleshly Tweet yesterday about daring any church to come up with more mature, godly christians than those at his church.

Now he's saying that "Paul COMAPREDMacedonia church's committment to Corinth's and challenged them to MATCH it 2 Cor. 8:1-8. Wise teaching too." (caps original)

He went on to say more but this will be sufficient.

Tricky continues to dig his hole deeper. To compare what he's doing to that of Paul is insane. Besides being a Christian, which Warren is not, Paul never called for a competition between churches EVER. Following the examples of others in completing a committment is not the same as competing over spirituality. In fact it was Paul who said we don't compare ourselves with ourselves; the irony is that Paul was dealing with false apostles who thought of themselves as very spiritual and authoritative--the very thing Rick Warren does:

2Co 10:11 Let such a person consider this, that what we are in word by letters when absent, such persons we are also in deed when present.
2Co 10:12 For we are not bold to class or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves; but when they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are without understanding.
2Co 10:13 But we will not boast beyond our measure, but within the measure of the sphere which God apportioned to us as a measure, to reach even as far as you.
2Co 10:14 For we are not overextending ourselves, as if we did not reach to you, for we were the first to come even as far as you in the gospel of Christ;
2Co 10:15 not boasting beyond our measure, that is, in other men's labors, but with the hope that as your faith grows, we will be, within our sphere, enlarged even more by you,
2Co 10:16 so as to preach the gospel even to the regions beyond you, and not to boast in what has been accomplished in the sphere of another.
2Co 10:17 But HE WHO BOASTS IS TO BOAST IN THE LORD.

Tricky is so inept, its pathetic. Oh wait, Camp and Piper call him a solid, mature, evangelical PASTOR. How in the world can they think such a thing with the on-going immature, fleshly, Christ-less blatherings of Warren?

When A "Christian" Mission Isn't: Ten "Mission" Workers Killed But Not For The Gospel of The Lord Jesus Christ

You may have heard about the 10 people being killed in Afganistan while doing "mission" work this past week. Report after report, in print and on the news channels, there's a disclaimer: they weren't prostylizing.

The Guardian (UK) --their headline is "Doctor Karen Woo Not Religious":

"The Taliban claimed responsibility for the killings, with a spokesman saying the group was shot because they were "spying for the Americans" and "preaching Christianity". Today, Woo's family rejected this, calling her a "true hero" who had no religious or political agenda.

"Her motivation was purely humanitarian. She was a humanist and had no religious or political agenda," said the family in a statement."

The Washington Post:

"The group is registered as a Christian nonprofit organization. Although its members do not shy away from this affiliation in this conservative Muslim country, Frans and others said they do not proselytize. In their work since 1966 on health and economic development projects, under King Zahir Shah, the Russians, the mujaheddin government and the Taliban, Frans said, "all along we've been known as a Christian organization. That has been a nonissue." "

Here is the orgainization, Internation Assistance Missions ,that these 10 people were involved with and its own statement:

"The second question is whether the team was proselytizing and distributing Dari Bibles. IAM is a Christian organization – we have never hidden this. Indeed, we are registered as such with the Afghan government. Our faith motivates and inspires us - but we do not proselytize. We abide by the laws of Afghanistan. We are signatures of the Conduct for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and NGOs Disaster Response Programmes, in other words, that, “aid will not be used to further a particular political or religious standpoint.” But more than that, our record speaks for itself. IAM would not be invited back to villages if we were using aid as a cover for preaching. And in particular, this specific camp led by Tom Little, a man with four decades experience in Afghanistan, has led eye camps for many years to Nuristan – and was welcomed back every time. "

As to their missions/values they state:

Quote:

IAM is an international charitable, non-profit, Christian organisation, serving the people of Afghanistan, through capacity building in the sectors of Health and Economic Development.

IAM’s core values are:

Dependency on God
Love for All
Teamwork
Accountability
Learning
Quality Work

End quote.

What makes this Christian in any sense? While it is humanitarian, it is not Christian. Nothing on their website declares the Gospel. There's nothing about faith in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, nothing that honors Him in any way. The only mention is "Dependency on God" which means very little.

In fact, this group prides itself in NOT sharing the Gospel! Indeed, the fact that the group and Little in particular, were invited back and not slain because they were sharing the Gospel, shows that this was a dead work. That's nothing to be proud about. Rather, its shameful. They shrink back from the ONLY thing that can give life and hope: the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

While I don't dismiss help to people who really need it, I do find that calling a group "Christian" while they admit they have no religious agenda, have no heart to share the Gospel (which is the REAL need of every Afghan), and have no public proclaimation of faith in Christ themselves, its dishonest to label this in any way Christian or to consider them dying for their faith, in any way.

Basically, its nothing more than what the World does, and it doesn't bring the light of Christ to the dead souls. Helping a blind person see (they have optomologist teams too) does nothing if he's still blind and hasn't heard of the only Savior and Lord who can heal his soul and give him true sight--spiritual eyes to truly see who God is and his need for Him.

This is just another example of how so many people are quick to slap on the name of "Christian" to a humanitarian organization. We need to be VERY cautious of doing that. "Christian" means something. According to Scripture it means one who is a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, one who has repented of their sins and turned to the only living Triune God that can save his wretched soul. "Good" works without faith in the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ is DEAD and does nothing to glorify Christ and the Gospel, nor does it save a single soul. What's the use of going to Hell with eyes that see?

Encouragement: Psalm 103

Psa 103:1 Of David. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Psa 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits,
Psa 103:3 who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases,
Psa 103:4 who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
Psa 103:5 who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
Psa 103:6 The LORD works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.
Psa 103:7 He made known his ways to Moses, his acts to the people of Israel.
Psa 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
Psa 103:9 He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever.
Psa 103:10 He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.
Psa 103:11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
Psa 103:12 as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
Psa 103:13 As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.
Psa 103:14 For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.
Psa 103:15 As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field;
Psa 103:16 for the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place knows it no more.
Psa 103:17 But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children's children,
Psa 103:18 to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments.
Psa 103:19 The LORD has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all.
Psa 103:20 Bless the LORD, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do his word, obeying the voice of his word!
Psa 103:21 Bless the LORD, all his hosts, his ministers, who do his will!
Psa 103:22 Bless the LORD, all his works, in all places of his dominion. Bless the LORD, O my soul!

Homosexuality: One Reason Anne Rice Left Her Religion

As Apprising Ministries reports:

Quote:

Now to her credit Joy Behar does ask the tough question concerning Rice’s son Christopher Rice, who is openly gay,[1] when she asks Anne Rice, “Did this have something to do with your decision?” While Rice doesn’t say her son is the cause, clearly when she speaks of her LGBT “gay” readership, as well as how she lived in a “gay neighborhood,” the issue of someone having sexual relations with another of the same sex i.e homosexuality is of foremost concern involving Rice’s own apostasy.

Behar goes one to discuss Rice’s view on abortion, which Anne Rice says she’s personally not in favor of; but leaving this issue aside, Rice tells Behar that she has received many “very gentle” emails from “Christians” who tell her to “come to our church, we’re not anti-gay at all; we have a gay minister.” Well, I first began covering issues surrounding homosexuality in order to help you see the advance of enemy forces against Sola Scriptura because the case for affirming homosexuality simply cannot be made from the Bible; and those who won’t adhere to Scripture on this issue will also eventually bail on the exclusivity of Jesus Christ.

End quote.

As I've said before, people compromise for the sake of relationships. And an audience (think John Piper). Now, Anne Rice was never saved, so she could only compromise something that she proclaimed was true but now rejects. But you see the point: people will do whatever to keep that readership, sell those books, fill up an auditorium.

Do not be deceived: "Bad company ruins good morals." (1Co 15:33)

Thoughts

Heresy and its teachers will come from among solid churches, not from outside. This is where the the battle for Truth will be fiercest and most devistating. Heretics aren't mean, nasty looking, men with horns pertruding from their heads. Nor do they where a lable across their shirts telling you they are such. No, they look and sound like Christians. Solid Chrisitians. Evangelical Christians. Even Reformed Christians. How else will they "secretly sneak in among you"?

How do you detect them?

To My Critics

"It is thought to be mere bigotry to protest against the mad spirit which is now loose among us. Pan-indifferentism is rising like the tide; who can hinder it? We are all to be as one, even though we agree in next to nothing. It is a breach of brotherly love to denounce error. Hail, holy charity! Black is white; and white is black. The false is true; the true is false; the true and the false are one. Let us join hands, and never again mention those barbarous, old-fashioned doctrines about which we are sure to differ. Let the good and sound men for liberty's sake shield their "advanced brethren"; or, at least, gently blame them in a tone which means approval. After all, there is no difference, except in the point of view from which we look at things: it is all in the eye, or, as the vulgar say, "it is all my eye"! In order to maintain an open union, let us fight as for dear life against any form of sound words, since it might restrain our liberty to deny the doctrines of the Word of God!" - fromProgressive Theology by Charles Spurgeon, Sword and Trowel, April 1888

Benny Hinn and Paula White: Collusion of Responses

**Update at the end of the article**

The lawyers of Benny Hinn and Paula White sure have been busy coming up with a response they both could print. Unfortunately for them, it proves this has been a collusion and that they are orchestrating things together. Inspired by Ken Silva at Apprising Ministries, I decided to show "side-by-side" (blogspot won't let me do side-by-side columns), their words which are nearly verbatim, with only minor differences. This is underhanded to manipulate their followers as well as the media. However Scripture says those of God do not use such tactics:

2Co 4:1 Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart. 2 But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God's word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God.

Both Hinn and White are not of Christ as their doctrines and practices prove. Therefore, collusion, underhandedness, demanding $2 million (to pay for this collusion?), is not a shock nor a surprise. Its just more proof they are false prophets/teachers and they are two birds of a feather.

The National Enquirer:

Paula White’s Response

Last Friday, the National Enquirer released a dishonest and misleading article which falsely characterized my friendship with Pastor Benny Hinn. The publication, which is known for its bias and slanting of the truth, tries to mislead readers regarding the ministerial relationship and friendship I have had with Pastor Benny for over 20 years.

Benny Hinn’s response

As you may be aware, the National Enquirer recently released a dishonest and misleading article which falsely characterized my friendship with Paula White. The publication, which is known for its bias against religious figures, misleads readers regarding the ministerial friendship I have had with Paula White for over 20 years.

May's taping of "This Is Your Day":

Paula White

In late May of this year, I went to tape a “This Is Your Day” broadcast with Pastor Hinn. Although I had not seen him in years, the taping gave us the opportunity to catch up on what has transpired in both of our lives. As someone who also endured a painful and public divorce, I was able to offer him insight and spiritual encouragement. Since that time we have continued to talk and our friendship has grown stronger but has remained morally and spiritually pure.

Benny Hinn

In late May of this year, Paula White came to tape a This Is Your Day broadcast with me. Although I had not seen her for years, she was an encouragement to me and shared helpful advice out of her own painful experience. As a result, I will not deny that the friendship has strengthened, and, while it has remained morally pure at all times, I have enjoyed the company of someone who has also gone through the trauma of a painful and public divorce.

Forcefully renounce and not morally impure :

Paula White

I publicly profess and forcefully renounce assertions that the recent trip to Italy to meet with Vatican officials suggests that the friendship is in any way improper or morally impure .

Benny Hinn

And so I am writing to tell you today that I forcefully, categorically, and absolutely renounce the lies that have been spread about me and want to set the record straight with you. There is nothing inappropriate or morally improper about my friendship with Paula White. There has been no immorality whatsoever!

Traveled indepentantly and never alone:

Paula White

We traveled independently to the region for respective ministry duties and, while there, spent time together along with others. We were never alone and were in the constant company of staff and other associates.

Benny Hinn

The truth is that we traveled independently to the region for respective ministry duties….Paula was likewise invited to have meetings in the region, and, although we spent time together, we were never alone and were in the constant company of staff and family members.

***Update***

Apprising Ministries as an update on Hinn's relationship with White, reporting that Hinn admits to it, yet also continues to say it wasn't "impure". Of course, anything an "anointed prophet of god" (yes, a little "g"), is considered pure, so he can weazle his way out of all kinds of sin including his "friendship" relationship with Paula White (no adult holds hands with a mere friend of the opposite sex, nor do they check into a hotel in Rome under false names). What's of interest is Hinn continues to protest too much, but more over, his claim that the Vatican

" made him a Patron of the Arts and invited him to visit Rome. He said patrons are asked to find donors to help maintain the Vatican’s art collections, and he wanted White to become a donor. “I let her come with me to Rome so she can donate money,” Hinn said. “That was stupid on my part. And for that I do ask forgiveness.”

Either issue--the hand-holding with White or the hand-holding with Rome---should be more evidence of a lost soul. After all, we have decades of demonic doctrine from this man.

Real Saving Power Does Not Lie In Human Rhetoric

Apprising Ministries has a great quote from Spurgeon:

Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say. (Exodus 4:12)

Many a true servant of the Lord is slow of speech, and when called upon to plead for his Lord, he is in great confusion lest he should spoil a good cause by his bad advocacy. In such a case it is well to remember that the Lord made the tongue which is so slow, and we must take care that we do not blame our maker.

It may be that a slow tongue is not so great an evil as a fast one, and fewness of words may be more of a blessing than floods of verbiage. It is also quite certain that real saving power does not lie in human rhetoric, with its tropes, and pretty phrases, and grand displays. Lack of fluency is not so great a lack as it looks. If God be with our mouth, and with our mind, we shall have something better than the sounding brass of eloquence or the tinkling cymbal of persuasion. God’s teaching is wisdom; His presence is power. Pharaoh had more reason to be afraid of stammering Moses than of the most fluent talker in Egypt; for what he said had power in it; he spoke plagues and deaths.

If the Lord be with us in our natural weakness we shall be girt with supernatural power.

Therefore, let us speak for Jesus boldly, as we ought to speak.

~Charles Spurgeon

1Co 2:1 And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. 2 For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, 4 and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

Anne Rice Proves She Wasn't A Christian

The "Christian"Post reports Anne Rice, of Interview With A Vampire infamy, has left "Christianity".

The next day she concluded that she was “out” and announced her refusal to be anti-gay, anti-feminist, anti-artificial birth control, anti-Democrat, anti-secular humanism, anti-science, and anti-life in the name of Christ.

In the name of Christ, I quit Christianity and being Christian,” she concluded Wednesday.
End quote.

The thing is, Rice was never a Christian. She grew up Roman Catholic, turned to Atheism, then returned to Catholocism. What she left was her Roman Catholic church, not Christianity. Had she truly been saved, she would have professed faith in the biblical Lord Jesus Christ and she would not have turned away from Christianity. A true Christian is IN Christ and will not leave Him nor biblical Christianity.

1Jn 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us.

No, she just wants to keep her liberalism, which is diametrically opposed to all she refuses to reject: homosexuality, feminism, secular humanism, Democratic party (see their platform for their unbiblical views), and science (aka secular humanism/evolution).

Why did anyone think she became a Christian, when she made it clear that she went back into the RCC? The fact she proclaims a plethora of anti-biblical values proves that those of us who didn't buy her claim were right to begin with.

I wonder, though, if George Barna, one of her biggest supporters, will continue to endorse her? Probably.

Biologos: Dancing In Deception

The latest issue off ICR's "Acts And Facts", offers an important article by Henry Morris III, titled, "The Deceptive Dance of Compromise".

Morris brings to our attention the deception of the group, Biologos**, which is trying to merge all sorts of people who deny the biblical account of Creation according to Genesis 1-2. This group is comprised of "intellectuals", "theologians", "Christians", "atheists", and "scientists". They are having a symposium called "The Vibrant Dance Of Faith And Science".

One of the most noteable names to be attached to Biologos in recent years is Reformergent Tim Keller, with glowing endorsements by Os Guiness, Chuck Colson, and Philip Yancey. I reported a year ago about his close connection with this anti-biblical group who deny God's Word.

What is amazing is the growing number of "Evangelical" "Christians" (although "evangelical means nothing now, considering that such a label is worn by Anglicans like Guiness, pro-Romanists like Colson, and pro-homosexuals like Yancey). Of late, many will remember the battle for Creation was added to by John Piper who denies the Genesis account of Creation and instead places faith in the doctrine of demons called "Old Age" theory.

This latest article lists the speakers and co-sponsors at this event. You might be surprised by who's involved. Andy Crouch, Hugh Ross, Alister McGrath, World Magazine, among them.

ICR continues its strong stand on Scripture and I continue to thank the Lord for their ministry of not compromising. May the Lord bless them and keep them loyal to HIM alone, whatever the cost.

More can be read in the recent issue here. http://www.icr.org/aaf/

Listen, no Christian denies the clear proclamation of a literal six-day Creation as God says in His Word. To deny this is to deny the authority of God and to have unbelief in Scripture. That, my friends, is what the enemy of the cross does.

Consider the connection between God as Creator, Sustainer, and Sovereign King in this passage; and to deny one part is to deny the whole:

Psa 33:4 For the word of the LORD is upright, And all His work is done in faithfulness.
Psa 33:5 He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the lovingkindness of the LORD.
Psa 33:6 By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, And by the breath of His mouth all their host.
Psa 33:7 He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap; He lays up the deeps in storehouses.
Psa 33:8 Let all the earth fear the LORD; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
Psa 33:9 For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.
Psa 33:10 The LORD nullifies the counsel of the nations; He frustrates the plans of the peoples.
Psa 33:11 The counsel of the LORD stands forever, The plans of His heart from generation to generation.
Psa 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.
Psa 33:13 The LORD looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men;
Psa 33:14 From His dwelling place He looks out On all the inhabitants of the earth,
Psa 33:15 He who fashions the hearts of them all, He who understands all their works.

*** BioLogos Team Members include Pete Enns, who was forced to leave Westminster Theological Seminary because he does not believe in the full inspiritation of all of Scripture. Greg Beale reviews his book here which reveals the major heresy Enns holds. Its no wonder Enns is onboard with Biologos: he denies the infallibility of Scripture.
