Professors vs. Possessors

"He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” The particular design of these verses is to take forth the precious from the vile. In them the apostle describes one of the vital differences which there is between the sheep and the goats. Of the latter it is said, “They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him” (Ti 1:16). They adopt the same language as the saints, believe the same doctrines, claim to be resting on the finished work of Christ, and are quite sure of their sal- vation; yet evince little or no concern for His precepts. They talk glibly, but walk carelessly. This is exceedingly solemn, for those who tread not in the way of God’s precepts are strangers to Him. A man spiritually knows no more than he practices, for spiritual knowledge is radical and influential. It exerts both a restraining and a constraining power, causing its subject to loathe and shun evil and to love and pursue that which is good. Therefore they who keep not God’s commandments have no experiential acquaintance with Him. “We cannot know Him as Lord and Father, without being dutiful children and obedient servants” (Calvin)."

Grow Up

"Though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God's Word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!" Hebrews 5:12

"An infant, if he should continue an infant always, would be a monster!"

However pleased the parents had been with the little one when it was a babe, they would soon be deeply distressed if year after year it still remained a tiny thing. Indeed, they would consider it a great calamity to be the parents of a dwarf.

What, then, shall we say of those professors who never grow? They are no more holy after fifty years! They are infants at sixty years of age!

I have in my house a picture which is made up of the portraits of my sons, taken on their birthdays for twenty-one years. They begin in the cradle, and end as full-grown young men. This is interesting and according to nature.

But, alas, I have spiritual children whom I wheeled about in the stroller twenty years ago--and they are babies still, needing as much care as ever, and are not able to walk alone. Ah me, that so many who ought to be warriors, are weaklings; that those who should be men of six feet tall, are so stunted as to be mere 'Tom Thumbs' in grace!

O for grace to grow in grace, and especially in the knowledge of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. God save us from a life which does not grow, and from a growth which is not healthy!

(Charles Spurgeon, "Flowers from a Puritan's Garden" 1883)

2Pe 3:18  but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

Implications of One's Doctrines

"Few seem to realize the fearful implications which necessarily follow the principles they hold and advocate. To predicate an atonement which fails to atone, a redemption which does not redeem, a sacrifice which secures not the actual remission of sins is a horrible reflection upon all the attributes of God. To make the efficacy or success of the greatest of all God's works dependent upon the choice of fallen and depraved creatures is to magnify man at the cost of dethroning his Maker."

False Muslim Convert Sues PCUSA

A false convert. This is the test of those who claim Muslims get converted to Christianty: are they willing to die for their faith and identity in Jesus Christ or not? If they love their life they will lose it. This is the point of baptism--to PUBLICLY proclaim faith in the Triune God and the person and work of Jesus Christ specifically.
Quote:

But according to the June 9 filing, the man was privately baptized in December 2012, a few weeks before making a regular trip to Damascus. He had repeatedly asked for the baptism to be done privately for his safety, and he alleges that he secured a promise from First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa to keep the baptism private. But a few days after arriving in Syria, the Oklahoma church allegedly published an announcement on its website that he had been baptized.
Soon after the news of his baptism went online, the convert alleges that he was beaten by Muslim extremists in Damascus, who told him they had read about his baptism on the internet. Even after denying his conversion, the man was held captive and tortured for days before he managed to escape and return to the United States.
The lawsuit claims that a murder sentence exists against the convert in Syria, where his son still lives and his business and possessions are now forfeit. The convert, who has permanent resident status but is not yet a U.S. citizen, is asking for $75,000 in retribution from the church that allegedly inadvertently prompted his persecution.
End quote.

On the surface it's also easy to show how he's violating Scripture in suing brothers (1 Cor 6), however the PCUSA aren't Christian, even if in his mind they are.

Luk 9:23  And He was saying to them all, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.
Luk 9:24  "For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it.
Luk 9:25  "For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself?
Luk 9:26  "For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His glory, and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.

The God of Scripture Is Longsuffering

"When tempted to be disgusted at the dullness of another, or to be revenged on one who has wronged you, call to remembrance God's infinite patience and longsuffering with yourself."

God's Sovereignty

"Today, to make mention of God's Sovereignty is, in many quarters, to speak in an unknown tongue."
~ A.W. Pink

Or really, to speak of God's sovereignty without qualification, without exception, without inserting man, is to speak in an unknown tongue. People want insert a condition, a limitation on God's sovereignty, making it partial, not whole; to make it conditional and not absolute. And the condition:except for man's "free will". Most "Christians" insert man into the equation, removing God's absolute power, will, and reign and instead gives man the competing sovereignty over God re: salvation.

This is no different than what the Romanists do with Jesus and Mary. All they believe about Jesus they attribut to Mary (as their Catechism states clearly). They cannot have Jesus Christ, nor any of the Three Persons in the Triune Godhead, have all the praise, spotlight, worship, admiration, veneration, and glory. No, just like most Evangelicals, they insert the pope and Mary into the equation, forcing "Jesus" and the "Holy  Spirit" to share the glory, praise, veneration, spotlight, power, etc. with Mary.

How Different Is the God of the Bible!

"How different is the God of the Bible from the God of modern Christendom! The conception of Deity which prevails most widely today, even among those who profess to give heed to the Scriptures, is a miserable caricature, a blasphemous travesty of the Truth. The God of the twentieth century is a helpless, effeminate being who commands the respect of no really thoughtful man. The God of the popular mind is the creation of a maudlin sentimentality. The God of many a present-day pulpit is an object of pity rather than of awe-inspiring reverence."

~ A.W. Pink (1886-1952)

The Proof of Salvation

“The proof or validation of genuine conversion is that the one who professes faith in Christ perseveres in that faith and grows in sanctification throughout the full course of his life. If a person professes faith in Christ and yet falls away or makes no progress in godliness, it does not mean that he has lost his salvation. It reveals that he was never truly converted.”

~Paul Washer, The Gospel's Power & Message

1Jn 2:19  They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us.

Friendship Evangelism?

Converting people to the Christian club while they remain unsaved.
I better add some commentary to this one.
If you go to weak evangelical churches, or simply search "baptism testimony" on YouTube, you will hear something like this:
"I was at a really low point in my life (insert felt need here). My friend (the "Friendship Evangelist") invited me to church. I knew there was something different about my friend, but I couldn't put my finger on it. I knew she was a Christian, but she never shoved her beliefs down my throat. So, I decided, 'What have a got to lose. Nothing else has worked. Maybe I should give this whole 'Jesus thing' a try.'
"When I came to this church for the first time, the people seemed friendly, genuine, not plastic. I liked the music. Even though I didn't know the words at first, the music made me feel relaxed, at home. And then the pastor got up to speak. I felt like he was speaking directly to me, like I was the only person in the church. He seemed to really understand my problems, and he sounded like he really cared.
"So, after that first Sunday, I decided to come back. I've been coming, now, for about a year. I've joined a Home Group. My Home Group is like my family, the family I never had. I know they love me, and I love them, too.
"So, that's why I'm here to be baptized, because I love Jesus."
~~~~~
So, what's the problem?
Be honest. You've likely heard testimonies like this one. It may have been yours.
The problem:
No mention of sin, repentance, the cross of Christ, an affirmation of the resurrection, or trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. While moving, and no doubt sincere and heartfelt, the above testimony is likely that of a false convert--someone who was warmly welcomed into the Christian club, while never being called to repent and believe the gospel.
Friendship Evangelism, as it is most commonly practiced, breeds testimonies like this one--testimonies that, unless the person comes to genuine repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, will result in yet another Matthew 7:21-23 tragedy.
End quote.
Turkey Prime Minister Says Women Should Not Laugh In Public
"A minister in Recep Tayyip Erdogan's conservative government has outraged Turkey's secular community by claiming that honest women should not laugh in public."
~International Business Times
Even "pro-Western" Turkey is still Muslim at the end of the day. This is just an example of why there can't be any true Western, Democratic Muslim country. If they are Muslim, Islam ends up dictating the country's culture and laws. When it comes down to it, their loyalty is to Allah and Islam.
How Ryan T. Anderson Responded to a Gay Man Who Wants to Redefine Marriage
Excellent.
Interestingly, the man who asked the question wasn't able to see what Anderson was trying to get at which is the man's foundational argumentation behind his question--his presupposition. I  think it was because sodomites and their defenders are unable to think reasonably. Their narrow focus doesn't allow them to think reasonably through their claim, their presupposition, their worldview, and the consequences of their worldview. It is merely an irrational and emotional stance build upon a hardened heart of unbelief (Romans 1, Jude). Anderson was quite patient and reasonable.
Consider The Facts
This fun, informative, animated short explains two irrefutable scientific facts that make evolution unscientific.
160 Children Killed As They Dug Tunnels for Hamas
Hamas used children to help them dig numerous tunnels into Israel and Egypt, a 2012 paper written for the Journal of Palestine Studies reported.
The paper, titled Gaza's Tunnel Phenomenon: The Unintended Dynamics of Israel's Siege says that little had been done to stop the phenomenon of child labor during the digging of the tunnels by Hamas in Gaza.
He continued and said that "at least 160 children have been killed in the tunnels, according to Hamas officials."
Since the beginning of Operation Protective Edge 21 days ago, IDF forces have uncovered 31 tunnels leading into Israel.
John Piper Promotes and Muslim Missionary Greg Livingstone and Anti-Christian Zionism
“Missionaries are getting a bit bland. I think I’ll combine a Jewish scholar with a feisty chorus-girl.”
The Tweet
Piper links to a book by Greg Livingstone, founder of Frontier.
The problem here is various.
Calling for a Jewish scholar when you link to a missionary to Muslims is quite odd.
First, the tweet is wholly impure. I don't care if Piper or Livingstone is trying to be witty or clever. It is impure.
Missionaries aren't called to excite, inflame, or appeal the flesh.
The Gospel cannot be proclaimed faithfully by a Jewish scholar nor a sensual chorus-girl.
Joking about true missions in such a way displays a lack of sober-mindedness toward God, Scripture, the Gospel, biblical missions, and the souls of men.
Furthermore, Livingstone is a pragmatist (trying the "plastic liner" methodology back in '82). The fact that he's alive and has written a book about "mssions" to Muslims tells me he didn't boldly tell them the Truth about Jesus Christ, the Gospel, their sin, Hell, the offense of Islam, their idolatry, their total depravity. Muslims will slaughter Christians or at least persecute them for preaching Christ crucified. Now while he does make a couple of good points, they are overshadowed in my opinion by these things below that I deal with.
The Author
Here is an interview with Livingstone, whom Piper promotes. The quotes are italicized by me and my comments follow.
First some background:
"Greg Livingstone is a difficult man to put in a box. He’s a critic of Christian Zionism, American nationalism, and he supports President Obama’s efforts to reach out to the Muslim world. He also happens to be the founder of Frontiers, the world’s largest missionary organization dedicated to church planting among Muslim peoples. Says Livingstone, “When you live outside America you come to realize how important it is to be a Christian first and American second.” He currently resides in London, where the Frontiers international office is located. I had a lengthy conversation with him the other day via Skype. Here’s the gist of what we talked about."
The Problems
Pragmatism:
Question: In recent years, there's been an increase in Muslims coming to Christ but remaining within the cultural fold of Islam. Some are calling this "the Insider Movement." What is your take on the Insider Movement and how should Christian missionaries respond to this movement?
Answer: Frontiers is getting hit on the left and the right with this. This is very current. My bottom line is we’ve got to be Bereans. It’s not a question of pragmatism, it’s a question of staying within Biblical parameters. What I like about the Insider movement is the movement’s proponents are people that love God convinced it’s not enough to see so few Muslims come to Christ. We’ve got to try something else.
So he just acquiesced to pragmatism immediately after stating "it's not a question about pragmatism".
The road to eternal life is narrow and FEW that find it, Jesus stated in Matthew. Why man thinks he is the one to determine what is enough is beyond me. I find that very arrogant. It's about numbers and that's a superficial view. Instead, they should look to making each individual a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ of Scripture. True disciples, not masses of pharisees.
Marrying Islam to Christ (ie, Chrislam) or Submission to the Lord
Moreover, there is no such thing as a "cultural Muslim". That's a brand new, totally made up Western pragmatic jargon that has zero place in biblical Christianity. There is nothing cultural about Islam--its ways are determined by the quran and hadiths; its motivation is centered on the quaran and its "Allah" and Muhammad. In fact, Islam is historically "Muhammadanism".  One cannot adhere to the rules and rituals of Islam AND be a Christian. The 5 pillars of Islam, the worldview, the practices are all married to the demonic quran. One can no more be a "Muslim Christian" (which IS what this is about), anymore than one can be a Jewish Christian (see Galatians and Hebrews), a Mormon Christian, Roman Catholic Christian. In fact, we see how it is prohibited by God to copy the ways of the surrounding nations for Israel, and the society for Christians (Eph. 4-5 for example).
2Co 6:14  Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?
2Co 6:15  Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever?
2Co 6:16  Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, "I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.
2Co 6:17  "Therefore, COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE," says the Lord. "AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN; And I will welcome you.
To make a convert but leave them in a satanic religion like Islam and its mosques is to NOT MAKE HIM A DISCIPLE of Jesus Christ! Moreover, it is to help them starve spiritually. In other words IF one truly gets saved OUT of Islam, one needs to then find a biblical church (they did it during the persecution in Acts, we can do it now) and be discipled by biblical Christians by teaching him biblical truth from Scripture and helping him live it out. This is true for any and all people who get saved OUT of Roman Catholicism and Judaism and Mormonism, etc. They are commanded to come OUT from those goat herds. Feeding and protection will not happen in the darkness. Moreover those who stay will be overcome by the darkness and not persuade the lost into Christ. That is not what we see in Scripture. Ever. We come OUT of the darkness, INTO the light, and then go and proclaim the Gospel.We don't LIVE in the dung, hoping to make the dung attractive and nourishing.
Paul says, “I’ve become all things to all men that I might win some.” So their motivation is good but as Tozer used to say: it’s not the lukewarm Christian that’s in danger of heresy, it’s the passionate Christian. I think the Emergent movement is influencing the Insider movement. Of course, you don’t win a Muslim to Christ by saying that Muhammad was a pedophile, but you’re not going to find your Joseph of Armethia, or Nicodemus if you don’t sit in the same room and find some commonality.
What did Tozer even mean? There is no true lukewarm Christian as they are rejected by Christ Jesus as being Him.
The fact is that Muhammad, upon whom Islam is built (and is rightly called Muhammadanism as they did for generations), was a pedophile. To ignore this is to ignore its unholiness. Just like Joseph Smith who was a polygamist and that he and the LDS were racist. While this isn't the primary nor necessary tool to use in reaching Muslims, it shouldn't be ignored either. Exposing the fruit of darkness is what Ephesians calls us to do. In contrast Jesus Christ is the sinless, perfect Messiah, the Son who took on human flesh and was without sin nor the ability to sin because of His eternal and unchanging nature of being God.
There is no commonality between Muslims and biblical Christians. None. Especially so when you are talking about Western biblical Christians. This is the heart of pragmatism, thinking and using what you think is a common bridge. Biblically we start with the Truth: God is the Triune Creator, man is wholly sinful and has earned God's righteous wrath, and there's non that is good nor does good--therefore one needs to be justified by God and must bow the need in humility before the biblical risen Lord Jesus Christ who is God over all.
Paul was not saying he would become all religions to all people. He was merely stating that He would not be a stumbling block to the Jew by say, eating or doing certain things that were previously commanded by God but now released (certain foods now declared "clean", eating with Gentiles, circumcision).
Obedience when it's convenient, pretence as evangelism
Still, the ‘jury is out’ on the Insider movement. There’s very little indication so far of congregations being established with godly biblically based elders by advocates of the Insider Movement. At some point, Muslims obeying the Lord Jesus are going to join the Rev. 6:9 club. A veteran missionary among Muslims has it right when he says, “Sure leave them in the Mosque; Encourage Muslim background believers to stay with and serve their families. But the vast majority will be banished if they actually share Christ as their LORD and SAVIOUR.
The "Insider movement" doesn't need more time; it is anti-biblical. It tries to marry the world's religions with Christ and then call it "cultural". This is just as incomprehensible as "cultural Judaism". A true Christian doesn't just add "Jesus" to their cultural and religion. Furthermore, we don't obey Christ and separate ourselves from the world as 2 Cor. 6:14-18 demands "at some point" --which means "when I feel like it". We don't obey Christ when we "get around to it". This is why this is so dangerous and is not biblical Christianity nor evangelism. It's flat out pragmatism and trying to save a life instead of losing it for Christ. To stay in demonic Islam along with its demonic mosques is to deny Christ and play the harlot in order to save one's life. This didn't work for the Jews in the NT and it won't work now. When God saves a life, they MUST proclaim Him AND reject the false religion and worldview from which they came. They are not to hide and PRETEND. And this is what is so dishonest about the "Insider movement". It's deceiving, it's dishonest, it's underhanded, it's cowardly. And God says the cowardly will not enter Heaven (Rev.21:8). It is remaining a slave as well as not proclaiming freedom to those enslaved to Islam. Besides, mosques are a den of inquity, demonic doctrines, blasphemous, dark, and havens of terrorist recruitments. In addition to all that, as if that isn't enough, proclaiming the biblical crucified and resurrected Lord Jesus Christ  who is God the Son and is Creator (Muslims deny all of this about Jesus) will earn persecution at BEST by the family, and slaughter at worst. Moreover, being biblically baptized will do the same. This happened in the NT and it happens even in Italy! At least Livingstone acknowledges this below.
Mat 10:32  "Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven.
Mat 10:33  "But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.
Mat 10:34  "Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
Mat 10:35  "For I came to SET A MAN AGAINST HIS FATHER, AND A DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER, AND A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AGAINST HER MOTHER-IN-LAW;
Mat 10:36  and A MAN'S ENEMIES WILL BE THE MEMBERS OF HIS HOUSEHOLD.
Mat 10:37  "He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.
Mat 10:38  "And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
2Co 4:2  but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
2Co 4:3  And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,
2Co 4:4  in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
2Co 4:5  For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus' sake.
2Co 4:6  For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
2Co 4:7  But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves;
2Co 4:8  we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing;
As Grace To You says:
Scripture teaches that the gospel calls sinners to faith joined in oneness with repentance (Acts 2:38;17:30; 20:21; 2 Pet. 3:9). Repentance is a turning from sin (Acts 3:19; Luke 24:47) that consists not of a human work but of a divinely bestowed grace (Acts 11:18; 2 Tim. 2:25). It is a change of heart, but genuine repentance will effect a change of behavior as well (Luke 3:8; Acts 26:18-20). In contrast, easy-believism teaches that repentance is simply a synonym for faith and that no turning from sin is required for salvation.
Scripture teaches that Jesus is Lord of all, and the faith He demands involves unconditional surrender (Rom. 6:17-18; 10:9-10). In other words, Christ does not bestow eternal life on those whose hearts remain set against Him (James 4:6). Surrender to Jesus' lordship is not an addendum to the biblical terms of  salvation; the summons to submission is at the heart of the gospel invitation throughout Scripture. In contrast, easy-believism teaches that submission to Christ's supreme authority is not germane to the saving transaction.
As A.W. Pink stated :
"Saving faith is a genuine coming to Christ (Matt. 11:28;John 6:37, etc.). But let us take care that we do not miss the clear and inevitable implication of this term. If I say "I come to the U.S.A." then I necessarily indicate that I left some other country to get here. Thus it is in "coming" to Christ; something has to be left. Coming to Christ not only involves the abandoning of every false object of confidence, it also includes and entails the forsaking of all other competitors for my heart. "For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls (1 Peter 2:25)."
Ashamed of the name of Christ and Seeking the Muslim "Isa"
Another thing that Americans need to realize is that for a Muslim to become a Christian, is a traitorous act, equivalent to an American selling atomic secrets to the Iranians. That’s why I don’t mind if Muslim background believers don’t call themselves “Christians”. For 1,400 years, people that call themselves Christians and people that call themselves Muslims have been fighting, bashing, and killing each other. The word “Christian” may be as ruined by history as the word ‘gay’. The issue is to see Muslims passing from death to life, knowing “Isa Al Masih” as their Lord and Saviour.
It's a traitorous thing for a Roman Catholic to become a Chrisitan. It's a traitorous thing for a Jew to become a Christian. Muslims don't have some sort of corner on persecution. In fact, increasingly, it's becoming a traitorous act to be a BIBLICAL Christian in the West (we are labeled "extreme" and we are persecuted, shunned, ridiculed, mocked, blocked from promotions at work, severed from family, etc.). Peter said,
1Pe 4:16  but if anyone suffers as a Christian, he is not to be ashamed, but is to glorify God in this name.
Livingstone seems to think Roman Catholics are Christians, because it was the Catholics who were warring in the Crusades (against the Muslims), not biblical Christians. It was the RCC that slaughtered biblical Christians. But "Christian" is a biblical name for what we are. We are not to hide from who we are, nor be ashamed of HIS name.
Furthermore, Isa isn't Christ Jesus. Isa is a MUSLIM PROPHET, not God the Son who was crucified on the Cross, who proved His deity, He demanded to be loved and worshiped and obeyed, who set Himself as equal to God the Father. Isa isn't a historical figure. To call Isa "Jesus Christ" is to blaspheme HIM. Let's remember that it is the quran that commands Muslims to slaughter the Jews and Christians. They don't call for the slaughter of a Muslim prophet called Isa though. Like the Jews, Muslims hate the biblical Jesus Christ who, when He took on flesh, was born of Jewish parents, but has eternally been God over all.
Respect
We are not called to respect that which is demonic in origin either. We cannot respect things that blaspheme the God of Scripture. Such a call, as made by Livingstone's  Frontier organization shows they are pragmatists and seek to honor man AS an enemy of Christ than the thrice Holy God of Israel, trusting in His sovereign hand to work within the biblical mandate. Moreover Frontiers promotes Roman Catholic's Liberation theology, aka Social Justice (something Rick Warren is big on). That is NOT the mission of the biblical church. OUR mission is to be built up within a local congregation that is made up of believers only, in order to grow and be equipped to go out and proclaim Christ.
We can respect people in that they are created in the image of God. We don't need to insult them on purpose. However, we aren't to adhere to Muslim rules as that is giving credence and subjecting ourselves and the HOLY Spirit within us, to that which is demonic.
It isn't surprising that John Piper likes this guy. Piper claimed in 2012 in a tweet "Muslims, Jews, Christians! Allah and Adonai are only known and loved through the crucified and risen Christ. John 8:19; 5:42-43" (which I dissect at the link), which again displays either deliberate spiritual harolotry or absolute ignorance of Islam. He is also friends and promoter of heretic Rick Warren who also holds to the same view. Additionally, Piper holds to anti-Zionism.
Not the only one
Frontier and Livingston aren't the only pragmatic "missionaries". I knew a man who claimed to be a missionary to the Muslims in Bangladesh for 15 years. He told me that he felt the best way to reach the Muslims was by finding a common bridge (pragmatism). He has maintained that the Muslims "have God on some level" and that they "have a partially correct view of God." This is asinine. They do not "have God in the world", they reject the one triune God (if they don't have the Son they have neither the Father nor the Son, John says), and Allah is not Yahweh anymore than the Mormon god (once a mere man who attained to godhood), is the biblical God. This is Christianity 101 folks, and it was proclaimed by this "missionary" who has spent over a decade at a well known  "solid" seminary as a professor of OT here in S. California (not Fuller, not Talbot). In all that time, his best example of having a discussion with a Muslim was one that lasted merely 30 minutes, plus he lived to tell about it. The REALITY is that he didn't evangelize Muslims. He was there to translate Scripture into Bengali. He did not make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ from Muslims.
Border Flood: Transnational Ganges Using Juvenile Members From Central America To Recruit
        (photo source)
Members of some of the United States' most notorious street gangs have infiltrated shelters housing illegal immigrant minors from Central America and are recruiting them, say Homeland Security sources.
An estimated 57,000 minors from Central America have flooded across the border from Mexico to the U.S. in recent months, and gang leaders are reportedly filling their ranks from among them.
Transnational gangs such as the Mara Salvatruca, also known as MS-13, and the 18th Street gang are using established juvenile members from Central America to cross the border and recruit other children to the cartels, say sources.
Obama Lied: the surtax is in fact a tax as the new proposed IRS forms show
On Thursday the IRS released a slew of draft 2014 tax forms. The new draft Form 1040 shows a new surtax line has been created for the payment of the individual mandate surtax – see line 61 of the 1040:
President Obama has repeatedly denied that the surtax is in fact actually a tax. The most prominent example was a heated exchange on ABC’s This Week in Sept. 2009, when George Stephanopoulos confronted Obama with a dictionary:
STEPHANOPOULOS: I -- I don't think I'm making it up. Merriam Webster's Dictionary: Tax -- "a charge, usually of money, imposed by authority on persons or property for public purposes."
OBAMA: My critics say everything is a tax increase. My critics say that I'm taking over every sector of the economy. You know that.
Look, we can have a legitimate debate about whether or not we're going to have an individual mandate or not, but...
STEPHANOPOULOS: But you reject that it's a tax increase?
OBAMA: I absolutely reject that notion. [Transcript]
The Obamacare individual mandate non-compliance surtax is one of at least seven Obamacare taxes that violate the President’s “firm pledge” not to raise any tax on any American making less than $250,000 per year. Thorough documentation of Obama’s promise can be found here.
Proverbs For Today
Scripture is very practical. Here are a few verses from the Old Testament book, Proverbs. Considering our nation's corrupt leaders and the volatile protests we've been seeing (and will see), these really speak the Truth:
Pro 29:2 When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, But when a wicked man rules, people groan.
Pro 29:4 The king gives stability to the land by justice, But a man who takes bribes overthrows it.
Pro 29:8  Scorners set a city aflame, But wise men turn away anger.
Pro 29:9  When a wise man has a controversy with a foolish man, The foolish man either rages or laughs, and there is no rest.
Pro 29:12 If a ruler pays attention to falsehood, All his ministers become wicked.
Pro 29:14 If a king judges the poor with truth, His throne will be established forever.
CSUN Sued By Scientist Who Found Soft Dinosaur Tissue
Attorneys for a California State University, Northridge scientist who was terminated from his job after discovering soft tissue on a triceratops fossil have filed a lawsuit against the university.
While at the Hell Creek Formation excavation site in Montana, researcher Mark Armitage discovered what he believed to be the largest triceratops horn ever unearthed at the site, according to attorney Brad Dacus of Pacific Justice Institute.
Upon examination of the horn under a high-powered microscope back at CSUN, Dacus says Armitage was “fascinated” to find soft tissue on the sample – a discovery Bacus said stunned members of the school’s biology department and even some students “because it indicates that dinosaurs roamed the earth only thousands of years in the past rather than going extinct 60 million years ago.”
Armitage’s findings were eventually published in July 2013 in a peer-reviewed scientific journal.
Mark Armitage has been a scientist for over 30 years.
After the soft tissue was discovered, an administrator at CSUN told Armitage that they would not tolerate his religion in their department and was let go. The school claims lack of funding for the "temporary" position. However as I say, timing is always key, and this is NO exception. Just as Ben Stein, documented in "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed" movie, credible, reasonable Christians who are scientists are black listed by bigoted and  agenda-driven evolutionists who won't tolerate evidence nor a different view other than their own religion of evolution, even when evidence proves them wrong. That's not science. That's an agenda and a bias. They should at least be honest they are working with presuppositions and a bias (everyone does).
